The Nude Party
The Nude Party
The Nude Party congealed as one unit in the southern mountain town of Boone, NC in 2013 and gained their namesake very literally. Bonded by isolation, house party debauchery, a religion based on pushing the limits of bad taste, and a precocious predisposition towards the Kinks, the Animals and the Velvets, they have burgeoned into a rock and roll act to be reckoned with. As the hysteria at their local shows steadily increases, so does their reputation with local law enforcement, forcing them daily more to seek employment anywhere but home. While snooping cops seeking to stamp out indiscriminate behavior scour the borders of their homestead the Nude Ranch, the group has prodigally exiled themselves and are staying scarce with a string of self booked tours and one night stands which have linked them up with with such likes as The Growlers, The Oblivians, La Luz, Night Beats, and King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard.

Their stripped down and bare bone sound, akin to the British Invasion being transplanted back into the Carolina mountains, has so far proven to have been unrecordable... until now. The secret? Sticking to the obvious and going down into a sweaty basement with a few mics, fewer clothes and a revolving door of comrades and goddesses falling by for as long as they can take the heat. Lately the Nudes have even gotten good at playing with their clothes on. However if any audience member feels the need to participate in the spirit of exhibitionism the stakes at the Party will unblinkingly be called and raised.
Young Valley
Young Valley
With members in their early 20s, Young Valley is a fitting name for the Jackson, Miss.-based alternative country band. Frontman Zach Lovett, or “Z,” became a household name in Mississippi’s singer/songwriter conversations and wanted to explore the idea of having a band to accompany his songs. While attending Delta State University, Lovett met drummer Spencer Thomas and bassist Carson Braymer. The trio played together in the bluegrass band Dandy and the Lions. During the summer months, Thomas and Braymer joined guitarist and Lovett’s fraternal twin Dylan in the Jackson area. By the summer of 2013, casual jam sessions had turned into gigs at Jackson’s landmark restaurant Hal and Mal’s and throughout Fondren, Miss.

Young Valley recorded a four song EP at the former Morning Bell Studios in the Duling School as a way to memorialize their summer jam sessions. Their first full-length project began when Zach’s mentor Byron Knight began building a new studio near Highland Village. The resulting 2014 album No Filter mixes Young Valley's live show—an organic, fun and raucous experience—with delicate studio touches and would not have become fully realized without the support of the communities of Fondren and Jackson. In addition, Young Valley has shared the stage with Lucero, The Weeks, Futurebirds and Phosphorescent.
Cody Rogers
Cody Rogers
"There’s a sad dive bar somewhere between heaven and hell..."

William Boyle writes, “Rogers’ voice sounds like something you’d hear booming from the stage of that place. Shivery, deep, weathered.” Cody Rogers’ has always been between those two places. The son of a pool hustler turned preacher he grew up in north Mississippi shaped by the duality of biblical fire sweltering like the southern summer and the heavenly moans that shaped the hill country with music and lone neon lights glowing in the blackness of the night.

Rogers fronted Oxford, MS band, The Holy Ghost Electric Show, for six years and during that time learned who he was as a artist and songwriter, with the help of Simone Felice (The Felice Brothers), while exploring the soundscape with the family that made up HGES. Now, Rogers is releasing his first solo album entitled “My Heart is The Most Lonesome Rodeo” coming in 2018. “Carry these songs with you…”William Boyle writes, “They’re something to hold up against the doom that’s trying to consume and crush us.”

“My Heart is The Most Lonesome Rodeo” will be available on vinyl, cd, cassette, and everywhere online 01/12/18
