This summer Proud Larry’s is full of laughs as we welcome some outstanding comedians to the stage. It begins with a FREE show: The Blunt Force Comedy Tour with Troy Gittings, Chealsie Summers and Chad Chamberlain on June 23.
Troy Gittings: A teacher, a veteran, and a father, Gittings clearly loves to be in front when there is an uncomfortable situation. It’s no wonder he fell in love with comedy years ago.
Since summer of 2010, Gittings has been doing stand-up all over the country in hopes of quitting his day job soon. No topic is off limits, and his unique take on the absurdity that is life will be sure to have you laughing like an Atheist at church. Honing his skills at open mics and showcases weekly, Gittings has also performed with comedy legends such as: Doug Stanhope, Stewart Huff, Bobcat Goldthwaite, Mo Alexander, Carl La Bove, and even had a joke stolen from him by Carlos Mencia!
Troy can also can be heard regularly in NPR’s Sunday Night Service.
Chealsie Summers is from Northwest Arkansas and started doing comedy at the beginning of 2015. She’s not well read or well traveled, and she doesn’t enjoy keeping up on current events. Ultimately she kinda sucks…. but only in all the right ways.
Chad Chamberlain started comedy in 2015 and took to it like a fish in water. He’s performed w/ AJ Finney, JT Habberstat, Jay Whitecotton and will be touring w/ Troy Gittings this summer.
The laughs continue on June 28 with Henry Coleman. In 1996, Henry Coleman was a college student who found himself doing an oral report on a biology book. He was beyond bored, so he decided to make it hilarious. Henry had the class rolling with laughter! It was at that moment he discovered he might be a natural at stand up. Soon after, he began to frequent comedy clubs. After a tough first couple of years, Henry finally got a break and was booked at the world famous Apollo Theater in 2002.
Make sure you come grab some dinner and a table for the hilarity that will ensue.
